Pledge manager incoming!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 23, 2017 at 04:42:56 PM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

Just a quick update to let you know the pledge manager is complete and will be with you next week. Once again, we've worked with BackerKit to make the process as smooth as possible. Remember, you must complete the pledge manager with your address details... otherwise we won't know where to send your terrain!

Some of you will receive your pledge managers on Monday so we can test that everything is working smoothly and the rest will be sent out once we're happy that everything is ok!

We also wanted to draw your attention to the shipping costs. Shipping costs will be collected during the pledge manager phase and during the Kickstarter we quoted an estimate for shipping the various pledge levels. Due to unforeseen circumstances the prices have increased slightly since we ran the Kickstarter.

The shipping prices will be as follows:

One Crate: UK $6, Europe $9, North America $9 and Rest of World $17

Two Crates: UK $10, Europe $17, North America $17 and Rest of World $27

Three Crates: UK $12, Europe $21, North America $21 and Rest of World $32

We'll be in touch again next week once the pledge managers have been sent out. Also, let any of your friends who missed out on the Kickstarter that late pledges will be available at the same time.

Quick update about the pledge manager
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 07, 2017 at 08:56:25 PM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

This is just a quick update to let you know that we're currently working on the pledge manager, in which you'll be able to select your Crates and any Optional Extras.

We are hoping to have the pledge manager ready later this month and will be working with BackerKit again to make sure this process is as smooth as possible. Once it's ready, all backers will receive an email asking them to complete the pledge manager and confirm their pledge/address details.

When the pledge manager is open, late pledges will be open too - so if you missed out on the campaign, you'll be able to jump on board then.

FINAL HOURS! ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TERRAIN FOR ONE LAST JOURNEY!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 07, 2017 at 04:33:00 PM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

This is it! The station is in sight and the Hype Terrain is preparing to reach its final destination. However, rather than slowing down to a safe crawl, let's power through right until the end and then finally slam the brakes on at 11.59pm (BST) tonight. Who cares if we smash through the station wall?!

We've reached another amazing milestone: $600,000! We haven't got the shocked emoticon on the Kickstarter updates, which is probably a good idea because this update would just be full of them. $600,000! Thank you so much Terrain Spotters for all your incredible support, we are truly humbled.

With the total now past $600,000 we're going to DOUBLE the contents of the Temple to include more columns, an extra dais, an additional lectern/book, another fountain, a second altar and an extra pool. Phew... and we survived that whole paragraph without making a pun about pooling our resources.

We hope there's enough gas in the engine to take us to $610,000 because then we'll be unlocking the gas trap (design to be confirmed) for the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower.

We've got a bone to pick at $620,000, with the addition of a skeleton for the Torture Chamber (design to be confirmed)!

ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TERRAIN!

Ok, it's the final stretch, so let's do something a bit bonkers for the last day! To celebrate such an awesome campaign, we want to fill your boots with as many goodies as possible. With that in mind we present: THE $630,000 ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TERRAIN GOOOOOOOOOOAL!

That's right, if (or surely when) the total smashes through $630,000 we'll be adding all this! KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Included in this stretch goal you'll find:

  • Candles and a plinth (on which to stand the fountain or a statue) in the Temple
  • An extra mummy (design to be finalised) for the Torture Chamber
  • A trap lever and extra chock for the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower
  • A tapestry and mirror to hang from the wall of your town house

Can we make it? $30,000 in three hours. COME ON TERRAIN SPOTTERS, LET'S DO THIS!

You've got gas! LESS THAN TWO HOURS TO GO!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 07, 2017 at 04:32:51 PM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

A very quick update!

The gas trap has now been unlocked. We've added one to the Dungeon Crate, while the Dark Lord will benefit from two of these silent but deadly traps.

We are closing in on the skeleton at $620,000! In fact, there's less than $4,000 to go!

$630,000 is the big one, as we'll be adding a bunch of pieces to the Crates and Optional Extras. Exciting stuff!

And just in case we manage to do that, here are the final bits for the Kickstarter Bonuses in the Dungeon and Battlefield Crates. Dare we dream that we can reach $640,000 before the campaign ends?

TerrainCrate is FUNDED! Thank YOU for all the support!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 07, 2017 at 04:32:42 PM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

After just over two weeks the Hype Terrain has finally finished its amazing journey. It's been a heck of a ride and we've loved every moment being the Hype Terrain driver (no comments about Ronnie being the Fat Controller, thank you).

So, let's just recap some of the astounding events that have happened since we first fired up the Hype Terrain and pulled out of Mantic Station a couple of weeks ago:

  • you raised a staggering $629,460
  • you unlocked an amazing 66 stretch goals
  • you helped create three totally new themed sets
  • you have put up with Rob's atrocious puns… for that you all deserve a medal

Ultimately, the most important thing is that you've funded a massive range of plastic, fantasy scenery that can be used for a huge selection of tabletop games. During the campaign (in between the requests for tiger skin rugs, Brian Blessed statues and corpses) we've been inspired by the comments from Terrain Spotters talking about what they'll be using the scenery for.

So thank you! Thank for making this such an enjoyable campaign and also helping with your suggestions. Without the Terrain Spotters, we wouldn't have had a new junction for the Abandoned Mine, the traps would still be brown and, most importantly, the wizard wouldn't have had anywhere to sit. Just imagine a life without the Comfy Chair for a moment *shudders*

We've also got enough ideas for the TerrainCrate 2, 3 and possibly 4, thanks to all the suggestions that came through during the campaign. It's great to see such a passionate community of gamers that's bursting with ideas.

MISSED STRETCH GOALS

Despite a valiant effort by the dedicated Terrain Spotters, we didn't quite reach the $630,000 and $640,000 stretch goals *sad face*

HOWEVER! We were only $540 short of $630,000 so we're going to add all of these to the optional extras/Crates! *happy face*

Also, we'll track the funding in the pledge manager and if we get an extra $10,000, we'll also add the final $640,000 stretch goal too!

WHAT NEXT?

Well, we're going to have some sleep! Aside from that, we'll start working on the pledge manager once the dust has settled. We're planning to use BackerKit again, which is really straight forward and user friendly. We hope to have the pledge managers with you in June and it'll be open for several weeks

All that remains is to say thank you so much again. It's been an emotional ride aboard the Hype Terrain and hopefully we'll all be doing it again soon!

Will all Terrain Spotters please leave the vehicle... we have reached our destination...
