We're cooking up a storm but has someone got gas in here?

Hi Terrain Spotters,

The final stretch is fast approaching but the goals just keep getting smashed to bits, like the final hours of a dwarf's bachelor party.

Earlier today the total climbed past $570,000, which added a rope ladder to the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower.

Just moments ago, we passed the $580,000 mark, which means all the Terrain Spotters are cooking up something special and we've added a cooking pot to the Battlefield Crate.

So, what's coming up? At $590,000 we'll be adding another training dummy to the Guard Barracks in the Town Crate. Don't need a training dummy? Well, it might make a decent scarecrow!

$600,000 is the big one! We've been reading all the comments about the Temple since it was announced and there was a feeling it was a little short on contents. So BOOM! at $600,000 we'll be DOUBLING the original contents.

Remember, if you fancy getting all three new sets (Torture Chamber, Dark Lord's Tower and Temple) we've got a special $60 bundle that also includes a FREE empty Crate worth $12.

Well, we guess it's time for another stretch goal as we approach $600,000! Not sure about you, but we reckon the Dark Lord might have gas. At $610,000 the poison trap will be added to the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower.

Choooooo choooooo! The Hype Train just keeps on going...

LESS THAN SIX HOURS TO GO! We've got a bone to pick with the new stretch goal...

Hi Terrain Spotters,

We're shaping up to an exciting finish but has the Hype Terrain got enough steam to make it all the way to $600k and unlock all those sweet extras for the Temple? Now's the time to tell your friends to jump on board before we reach the station at 11.59pm (BST) tonight!

The newest stretch goal to be added is an additional training dummy for the Guard Barracks set in the Town Crate.

Ok, we're closing in on the big one! We hope you're all praying to the Kickstarter gods for more backers because at $600,000 we'll be DOUBLING the amount of pieces in the Temple! We've given this update enough column inches in previous updates, so hopefully you won't altar your mind about adding it as an optional extra... sorry, they are some of the worst puns yet!

Can anyone smell gas in here? At $610,000 you'll unlock a poisonous gas trap for the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower. And after some suggestions in the comments we might see about tweaking the final design... after all, a big skull & crossbones might be a bit of a giveaway for the adventurers.

Up next, throughout the campaign the Terrain Spotters in the comments have been asking - nay begging - for some corpses! Unfortunately, we couldn't quite provide a full graveyard of bodies but we're happy to announce that at $620,000 we'll be adding two skeletons to the torture chamber. The design shown isn't final and we'll keep you updated once the campaign finishes about the final piece... hopefully it will even fit in the coffin too!

Can we get to $600,000 and beyond?!

It's the final day! TerrainCrate ends at 11.59pm (BST) TONIGHT!

Hi Terrain Spotters,

The Hype Terrain is heading full steam towards the station and will arrive at its destination tonight. It's been an extremely enjoyable ride and some of the highlights include:

  • Smashing the funding target in 90 minutes
  • Unlocking 59 stretch goals
  • Raising enough funds to create three entirely new sets
  • Filling the comments with terrible tree and bird puns on several occasions

We're prepared for a busy day and it already looks like we've had a busy night because two stretch goals were downed as we slept.

First up, we'll be adding two broken columns to the Temple Optional Extra.

Next, with the total well over $560,000, the Torture Chamber will be getting an additional rack.

At $570,000 the total will hopefully continue to climb and we'll add a rope ladder to the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower, so your adventuring party will be able to climb to different levels in your dungeon.

Up next at $580,000, there's an extra cooking pot for the Battlefield Crate, which would double up nicely as a cauldron for the Dark Lord's Tower, perhaps?

We're not dummies, so at $590,000 an additional training dummy will be added to the Guard Barracks set in the Town Crate. It can, of course, be used for combat training or placed in the bunks to trick the sergeant during his nightly inspections.

Finally (for now at least), we've been checking the comments and a few Terrain Spotters were asking for more columns in the Temple... well, we're going to do better than that! At $600,000 we'll DOUBLE the original contents of the Temple to make sure you've got enough pieces to kit out a cathedral! This also means the semi-circular dais can be joined together to create a circular base for the fountain... how clever!

Right, we'll be updating the main page now and checking comments! Last call to board the hype terrain... choooooo, choooooo.

Roll out the red carpet for the latest stretch goal to be unlocked!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, May 16, 2017 at 08:54:42 AM

Hi Terrain Spotters,

Wow... the stretch goals are getting taken out faster than a pixie that's accidentally walked into a wrestling match with an ogre!

Ok, so let's get you all up to speed: the total's now over $540,000, which means we're unrolling the carpet in the Town Crate... please wipe your boots before you stand on it.

For the next stretch goal, we're hoping to catch a break and raise $550,000 to unlock the broken column for the Temple set.

We hope the wait for the next stretch goal won't be torture... as it's an additional rack for the Torture Chamber set.

The total keeps climbing, so it seems only appropriate that the $570,000 goal is a new rope ladder for the Dungeon Crate and Dark Lord's Tower. How high can we go?

We're also approaching the final 24 hours, so if you've got any gaming buddies who would love some awesome, plastic scenery and terrain, then tell them to jump on board the hype terrain before it leaves the station for the final time!

This campaign's on fire and the stretch goals keep racking up!

Hi Terrain Spotters,

This is our 4th update so far today and it looks like we could be going for the record of most updates in a single day.

The total has now soared over $530,000 and that means the Battlefield Crate is hotting up, courtesy of the campfire. We can already smell the smores... whatever the heck they are.

Coming up we hope no one pulls this rug from under our feet as we won't have anything for $540,000! Anyway, assuming that everything goes to plan, we'll be adding a decorative rug to the Town Crate.

At $550,000 we've got another important pillar of the Kickstarter campaign... a broken column for the Temple.

Next at $560,000 we're going to keep stretching that total with an extra rack for the Torture Chamber. Now you can torture people side by side... his and hers torture racks, perhaps? The perfect wedding present!
